Lotus, Water Hyacinth and Tiger Printed Blouse, Pallava Tiger Garden
$265.00
Description
The classic button-up, reimagined. Cut from lustrous double-face Mashru viscose in the Pallava print, the boxy oversized body is grounded by a crisp back pleat, a high-low shirttail hem and gold logo buttons. The peak collar is edged by hand in 4 mm brass beads. Wide double-layer cuffs gather on a drawcord that ends in removable hand-beaded floral latkans, a nod to celebratory garlands. Unhook them to wash, or to wear it plain.

In the Pallava print, water hyacinth, lotus and a hummingbird grow through tiger stripes. Strength sits alongside softness, while flowers, beads and cascading latkans celebrate the pleasure of becoming visible.
Pallava means new growth in Sanskrit. In British English, a palaver is a fuss, something excessive, something that takes up perhaps a little too much space. We like both meanings.
Grow anyway. Adorn yourself. Bloom beyond what is considered necessary. There is joy in being a little too much.
Be you boldly.

The Story In The Print
Tiger Garden gathers tigers, lotus and hyacinth into one landscape, printed on Mashru viscose with the sheen of silk and the ease of viscose.

A tiger moving through the garden, unhurried. Strength that does not need to announce itself.

Lotus rising from still water and hyacinth in bloom: the flowers of patience and of spring.

A weave inspired by Mashru, the Indian silk-cotton cloth: lustrous on the face, soft against the skin.
