Description

Jaya is Sanskrit for victory. A long-sleeved mock neck in sheer black stretch mesh, close to the body, with a bouquet of water hyacinth built across the chest by the Suzarila atelier. Each petal is cut by hand from silk organza, its edge finished with wire so it lifts off the mesh and holds its shape, with embroidery worked over the petals as accents. The leaves and the swollen bulbs the plant floats on are embroidered straight onto the body. The flowers do the work of modesty. The mesh does the work of light.

  • Sheer four-way stretch mesh, 100% nylon
  • Hand-cut silk organza petals, wire-edged so they stand off the mesh
  • Embroidered accents on the petals, embroidered leaves and bulbs on the body
  • Long sleeves, mock neck, close body fit, no closures
  • Sizes XS to L
  • Free lifetime repairs

Jaya means victory in Sanskrit. We chose it for a piece covered in water hyacinth, a flower that grows with extraordinary determination, spreading across the surface until the water itself appears to bloom.

Here, victory is not conquest. It is continuing to grow. Taking root where you can. Finding light. Flowering anyway.

Your becoming, your journey, your quest, your growth, is its own victory.
