Wear Your Becoming

You are dressed in your own story.

Each thread remembers,

each fold tells,

Each color holds your flame.

This is your moment

stand in your light,

shine bright.

Welcome, Beautiful Soul,

I have been expecting you, waiting to watch you see yourself through my heart. Ashaki has become a life practice, born from a desire to tell my story of hope. To share my journey from struggle to joy. Lost and undefined, now found.

This line is for those who carry and create, but also long to journey toward themselves. A safe place to wear truth, my story, your story. Clothing as storytelling, healing, growing, and celebrating. I first called for a witness as I designed, remembering my path to becoming. My soul tells me to create, my heart tells me to share.

Beauty saved me. When all else was in turmoil, beauty sheltered me. The sunset harbored me as a child, cascading colors dancing each evening. I watched with my eyes, but I felt from my soul. A connection to a deeper truth, a harmony so great it moved me out of time. Flowers, color, and cloth, these moments carried me with awe and reverence. Beauty was the heartbeat that let hope flourish unbound within me.

In this first collection, I capture those gifts of childhood memory. Anchored in South Asian heritage, infused with Western silhouettes, propelled by a message of healing and wholeness. The adult in me now celebrates the child who endured, integrating beauty as power, safety, love, and divine mother.

Each piece is a story, each collection a chapter, together forming a rhythm of mindful growth and celebration. I was born a healer. I once healed the body in medicine, then the mind with words as a coach. Now, with courage, I step into healing with art that drapes the body. I heal and grow as I create Ashaki, and invite you to do the same.

This is art, with the highest quality craftsmanship and fabrics. You will notice instantly, light play, movement, structure, depth, weight, and ease. Prints carry joyful milestones of my life, each embroidery longingly placed. Every detail a devotion, every element a cause for celebration.

Mindfulness is stitched into Ashaki as intentionally as the embroidery itself. Each garment is made to be experienced, an invitation to slow down and connect with yourself. Fringe becomes meditation, grounding weight a reminder of presence, shimmer a call back into the moment. Bold vibrancy that asks you to allow yourself to take up space.

Lily and I designed with care, petite-aware silhouettes, removable components, reversible offerings, shawls, and capes for easy layering, and details that honor bodies as they are. I thank Lily, our Creative Director, without whom Ashaki would not be what it is.

Ashaki is a house, but also a home, for those who journey and continue to reach upwards. So welcome, fellow traveler. Let me see you. Let me celebrate you. Life is momentum with rare pause. I ask that when you wear these garments, you reflect and celebrate. Loud, bold designs command attention. See yourself as you are. Own every step that brought you here. Celebrate yourself.

Then allow yourself to be seen. These designs make you stand out. Embrace your space. Let others celebrate you. When you wear Ashaki, you connect to my heart, your heart, and the hearts of all those around you.

Healing begins with self-reflection, then expands into growth and wholeness. We were never broken; we were born whole, and we return to it. Every step of that journey commands witness and celebration. I pray that when someone sees you, they pause and reflect on the light emanating from you. In that pause, I hope we grow together.

As life moves us forward, I ask you to honor yourself. Pause, wear Ashaki, and remember: you are the meaning of life, the creation, and the creator. Let us choose to joyfully journey together, illuminating the path with the light shining from within.

Together, we can light up the world.

In Celebration,

Fatema Yasmine Akhund

CEO & Founder.
